Aug 28, 2020
EMPAC, the political arm of SEANC, announced three more endorsements in Council of State races today, supporting longtime SEANC member Elaine Marshall for Secretary of State, Beth Wood for State Auditor and Dr. Catherine Truitt for Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Statements from EMPAC Statewide Chairman Mark Dearmon on each endorsed candidate:
Elaine Marshall: “I first met Elaine through 4-H almost 40 years ago. After six terms in office, it’s hard to imagine a better Secretary of State. As a longtime state employee and SEANC member, she knows our issues and listens to our members. EMPAC enthusiastically endorses Elaine Marshall for Secretary of State.”
Beth Wood: “Beth Wood continues to excel in her third term as State Auditor and deserves another four years. As they say, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. EMPAC proudly endorses State Auditor Beth Wood for reelection.”
Catherine Truitt: “Catherine Truitt is an experienced education leader who recognizes and supports the need for non-certified school personnel to have a voice. EMPAC was impressed by her expressed commitment to work together to better the lives of these often overlooked staff members.”
