If you live in the Sandhills region and have been a patient at Pinehurst Medical Clinic or First Health Moore Regional Hospital, you likely received a letter recently from Pinehurst Medical Clinic stating that it is terminating its contract with Humana effective 12/31/2024.

SEANC is aware of this issue and is working with the State Health Plan to keep members informed. As of now, Plan officials tell us that "Humana and Pinehurst Medical remain in negotiations, and both sides are optimistic they will be able to reach an agreement." The notice of termination was sent to patients in compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services notification requirements only.

Further, the State Health Plan's Humana plans are "passive PPO plans." There is no difference in in-network and out-of-network benefits, meaning if Pinehurst Medical terminated the contract, Plan members would see no change in their costs for treatment there.
