As of Jan. 1, new prescriptions for drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy for treating obesity are no longer covered by the State Health Plan. The Plan's Board of Trustees voted in October to halt coverage while it studied ways to manage the strain that the high cost of the drugs put on the Plan.

The board will likely take up the issue again at its meeting on Jan. 25. The meetings are open to the public. If you would like to attend, contact SEANC's Government Relations Department.
