Trooper Michael Miles Outstanding Member of the Week

Dec 05, 2014

MichaelJMiles scoop.jpgThis week's Oustanding SEANC Member of the Week is Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Miles of District 24.

State troopers put themselves at risk every day as they patrol North Carolina's highways, often encountering potentially dangerous and life-threatening situations.

On the night of Dec. 1, Miles faced one such situation when he and other troopers and local law enforcement officers responded to the I-95 corridor in Robeson County where a man suspected of abducting a three-year-old from South Carolina was seen.

After the suspect lost control of his vehicle, a foot pursuit ensued during which Miles confronted the suspect and was able to rescue the child as the suspect was arrested.

Miles, 29, has been a SEANC member since 2009.
