Bertie is one of several North Carolina prisons experiencing extreme understaffing in the ongoing vacancy crisis plaguing state government. We also talked about the House's vote to overturn Gov. Cooper's veto of a bill that included more hurricane money and provisions to strip powers from the governor and attorney general.
